To go on a cyber tour through the Internet... Alternatively, your imagination and dreams require about 200 kJ of energy, which is cheaper than walking or driving.
5 :
walk ur asss there
6 :
I would think it would be by bus if you don't have a car
7 :
Well waking would be the cheapest, if you want the quickest you need the millennium Falcon!
8 :
BJ, trucker will take you there for free. Otherwise, you can drive like the rest of us.
9 :
Nothing is cheap these days. Time to face reality.
10 :
overall jetblue--i've found tickets as cheap as 50 bucks each way with advance purchase--you would spend way more than that on gas, tolls, parking, etc if you drove..and no way in hell do you want to sit on a bus for that long
11 :
Greyhound fare = $81. Assuming 30mpg car and a NYS thruway toll of around $16, (480 mile drive), and gas at 3.45 per gallon would cost a total of $71.20. If you need to get into the city-proper, bridge and tunnel tolls might make the costs about even. Answer therefore is that bus and car are about the same. Air fare and train are obviously more.
12 :
Check out the train. Amtrack has great fares and is really comfortable.
13 :
4 friends in a Prius( a Mini or a Honde civic hybrid will work just fine, but if you had 4 people the prius is much bigger and better for the ride) , should cost you like nothing at 46 miles per gallon. the ride according to Yahoo maps the ride is 398(Distance: 397 milesTime: 6 hours 37 mins (approx.) so that would run you 8.7 gallons of gas, and if gas is 3.5 a gallon then it would cost you $30.45 not so bad

Is there anyone out there from Buffalo who remembers Leonardi's or Bocci's? I am on a serious hunt for some real pizza!

That's so funny. My husband is from Buffalo, and he loves Mario's Pizza in Matthews (704) 847-9559. He swears by Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo, though. Everytime we go visit we have to go there. But try Mario's!

As long as you have winter tires on your car.
2 :
It sure is safe, Buffalo generally gets more snow than the Toronto region and it is good to have winter tires on your car. Many cars still drive without the use of winter tires but traction may not be as good. There is a good chance that you won't see snow anyway. Very often we (Toronto) don't get any real snow until after Christmas. Just remember to slow down if you hit the snow areas. The worst area will be from Buffalo through Fort Erie - St Catharines.

Should there be a Buffalo board under Travel-United States?
Lately there has been an increase of questions in the New York City forum regarding Buffalo, NY and the surrounding areas. Even though Buffalo is in New York State, it is over 400 miles away from New York City. While those of us in the NYC forum that do know about Buffalo will do our best to answer, Buffalo should have it's own forum..... The most COMPELLING argument for a Buffalo forum gets 10 points.

Its own Forum? I don't have a problem with that. However, I spent a year traveling to Buffalo (business) and I am not sure, what the heck to say about it. I had a good time with the Buffalo folks in NYC, but the time I spent in Buffalo was depressing. Buffalo has more in common with Cleveland than it does with NYC and since Cleveland has it's own board - SO SHOULD BUFFALO!!!! I know it's not very convincing, but I think only the University students have a great time in Buffalo.
2 :
I would group that up with the greater niagara region. I live in Brooklyn, but grew up in Buffalo. And I can answer questions about both. Niagara Falls is a HUGE tourist attraction. buffalo is a 20 minute drive, and the people shop and stay there. Toronto is just a little too far on the canadian side as well. But those people that answer about buffalo or niagara falls can answer about both. Kind of like us that live in Brooklyn can answer about manhattan.

Try the train or Bus, if you do not wish to drive. Driving would be cheaper. I live near Niagara Falls, NY and drive to Toronto a few times a year. Not that expensive. How much will you pay me to pick you up and bring you here?

Greyhound Bus

What is the best way to travel from the Buffalo International Airport to Niagara Falls, Ontario?
I am flying into Buffalo but staying in Niagara Falls, ON. I am trying to find the best way to get to my hotel. I could rent a car but would prefer not to. If a taxi is the only way, how much should I expect to spend? Is train, bus or subway an option? Anything else?

Its not very far from the airport to where you are staying so you could taxi which is probably your best choice.
2 :
Niagara Airbus takes you from Buffalo Niagara International Airport to Niagara Falls, ON. It takes just over 30 minutes to get there from the airport. http://www.niagaraairbus.com
3 :
Some hotels in NF, ON also have an airport shuttle to the Buffalo/Niagara Airport. Ask your hotel.

Is there any subways or trains that travel between the two? or do you have to rent a car?

I had to rent a car. I believe there were some buses during the day, but my flight got there at midnite. I have seen several other people ask this question and have never found a really good answer. You can see the websites below for other sugesstions. Ifound it was cheaper and a ,whole lot less trouble to just rent a car. By the time you take a taxi to the bus station, then wait for the bus, then take another taxi in toronto...you have spent a lot of time and money. There really is not a convenient solution to this.
2 :
Train or Bus
3 :
You may be able to take a Grey Hound bus but renting a car is better and you just take the QEW highway straight into Toronto from Buffalo...you will have to stop at the border though before you get into Canada.
4 :
There are buses, trains and you can rent a car, or take a cab. No subways. Canada's public transportation is a joke.
5 :
BY plane? (or, confused Geese, flying, North) Your choice! We have No "subways, trains, or cars, for RENT!

its kind of travel too but green bay and buffalo?
If i wanted to travel to buffalo from the uk and watch a sunday football game could i in theory then go and watch green bay on the monday night ? and how hard are tickets to get? Is it a long way to travel? i didnt know which to put it in. Also is there anyway of finding out the 2008 schedule?? i mean for next year MY husband has been loads of times and never had trouble getting tickets .

All the tickets are sold out by now. They sell out within an hour after the team starts selling them in the offseason.
2 :
well, the packers don't play on monday night anymore this year. if you indeed are speaking of next year in 08, you have to wait until late in the summer. the schedule rotation up to 2009 has been decided already, and is shown on the link below. if you are looking for the packers schedule, it is more clear upon who is home/away next year on the 2nd link. the only thing that is not decided from the schedule rotation, are the last 2 remaining games of the season, and the dates of when they play.
3 :
In theory yes. I live in Buffalo,NY--The Bills play in a suburb,Orchard Park,a few miles south of the city and west of the airport. There are very few hotel rooms by the stadium. For transportation you would rely on taxi cabs as on a Sunday buses are next to imposable for a tourist.I don't know about car rental restrictions on a UK visitor, though. You can find hotel rooms downtown or by the airport, downtown would be better if you want anything at all to do beside sit in your room. Game tickets (by NFL standards)are inexpensive and for the most part sold out in advance early on in the season but are easy to come buy outside on game day from the scalpers or on line in advance, for a premium. The weather later in the season can be hhhmmmm extreme?at times-so be prepared to be cold and wet or sitting in a snow drift. I doubt you would be able to get a flight out of Buffalo that night,as most games start at 1 and are over by 4pm. Green Bay is 750 miles from here, about a 12 hour drive. I am sure you could get a flight there Monday morning and arrive before the 9pm start of the Monday night game, secure lodging and tickets,transportation,etc....But figure in the Jet lag and the bother---you would be pretty knackered by game time...................Good luck----JJHNKO@aol.com

Newark is easier and closer (no need to travel through NYC). Driving time is about 7 hours.

Newark Airport is closer and faster to get to from Buffalo. It is probably 6-7 hours.

best way to travel from Buffalo NY to Toronto?
What is the best way for a family of four tourists to travel from the airport in Buffalo, NY, to downtown Toronto? How long will it take? Thanks.

It depends how much mobility you need in Toronto. 1) You can take something like Greyhound and get to the city. Later, if needed, you can rent a car here or just use taxi 2) You can rent a car in US and drive all the way to Toronto. It takes about 1.5 hours to get from Niagara Falls to Toronto. I'm not sure how long will it take to get to the border and pass customs. Enjoy your stay in Toronto!
2 :
Be sure to ask ahead of time, about renting a car in the US, because many US car rental companies will NOT allow their cars to leave the USA. From the Buffalo airport, you have a choice. Limo, or bus to Toronto. Both are expensive, as the US based carriers cannot legally take passengers back to the US from Canada, so they charge as if it is a two way trip, to make up the loss. Perhaps a better way is to take a taxi from the Buffalo airport to the Greyhound bus station in downtown Buffalo, then the Greyhound to Toronto. The bus to Toronto is about 2 hours or so, depending on the time needed to clear Canadian Immigration inspection at the port of entry. Remember that all of you need to have your original US birth certificate ( no photo copies ) as well as a photo ID card, such as a state issued driver's licence. with you. Without proper identification you will be denied entry to Canada. Jim B. Toronto.
3 :
The best way to get to toronto would probably be to go over the Peace Bridge and follow the QEW all the way to Toronto. I can't stress enough to make sure you have either a passport, birth certificate, or a form of identification so you can get into Canada and back into the US. Have a great time in Toronto and I hope you come back to Buffalo!!

The first person is right, along with Greyhound, there is Trailways and MegaBus, a service to downtown Buffalo and to Niagara Falls, then it goes to the airport, and you can also connect to New York City, it costs $15 CAN one way, the others will be more. I have gotten you there web page and a sample trip schedule, look at it for the exact dat of travel.
