About What bridge should i cross and what should i keep in mind when i go for shopping in buffalo

What bridge should i cross and what should i keep in mind when i go for shopping in buffalo??
I am planning to shop in Niagara Falls Fashion Outlet and Walden Galleria. I think I am going to cross Queen-Lewiston Bridge. Is there another bridge that will take me less time to cross when going there and also coming back? I live in toronto. And also what time would be the best time to cross the bridge when I travel to buffalo? & also What time when i come back from buffalo? Thank you

I would say the Lewiston-Queenston would be your best bet. It usually isn't too busy, and is only a few minutes away from the Fashion Outlets(or whatever the call it now). I'm not sure what would be the best time, but if you do take the L-Q and you get stuck in traffic heading into the US, stay on the right side, it is a lot faster (heading into the US is almost always more backed up than going into Canada). I live a few minutes away from Niagara Falls, where you will have to pay 75¢ to cross the blue bridges :) Good Luck!

About any tips on traveling to Niagara Falls Canadian Side from Buffalo

any tips on traveling to Niagara Falls Canadian Side from Buffalo?
Will be arriving at Buffalo airport, then need to travel to Canadian side to stay in hotel. Any tips, we won't be renting a car. Can you visit all attractions from Canadian side without a car?

under no circumstances think it's a good idea to go over in a barrel
2 :
Yes, just don't go out swimming in the Falls
3 :
You can definitely visit most of the sites without a car. The town itself is packed with things to do... wax museums, a Ripleys, a casino, arcades, restaraunts, shopping.... And you can walk everywhere. Then there are the falls of course, the natural whirl pool, the flower clock.... all within 5 miles of each other. Have a great trip!
4 :
sure there's a nice downtown (it's touristy, but affordable....), everything walking distance. depends how long you are staying but don't forget taxis and so forth. as i recall we could walk pretty much to everywhere from our downtown hotel. it wasn't the ritz carlton, but it was clean and convenient. we didn't use our car very much at all. i think there are also bus trips to take you here there and everywhere (for a price of course, like sightseeing).
5 :
yea, there's taxies in the city part. but i have to warn you, i was Bord as hell when i went to Canada. We went to to see Niagara Falls, and that's all we did. There was nothing really left to do, except parade around China Town. Although i was 7 at the time and i was with my family **annoying** And if your going in july, Canda is surprisily hot. >.> well anyway good luck^^
6 :
It depends on how far your hotel is from downtown.. Once downtown (by the falls) everything is right together.. Ripleys, Hard Rock Cafe, the Casino, Skyon tower, etc. The 3D rides are fun but short and expensive... The haunted house type places are a joke, don't bother. Your best exchange rate is usually at the casino..
7 :
The Buffalo Niagara airport is about a 30 mile drive (and a delay at the border) from what would be considered downtown Niagara Falls, Ontario. Mostly everything is within a 0.5-1 mile walk once in NFO.

Car.

Buffalo is only about 10 miles away from Niagara Falls. Your best bet is using the public transit system. Go from the airport to the transit center downtown, and from there you can catch a bus directly to Niagara. Here is the website for the Buffalo Transit System: http://www.nfta.com/metro/
3 :
These links will help you get to where you need to go. The first map link is directions from the airport to your destination. The second map link is directions from your destination to Niagara Falls, it will give you a beautiful view on the way in, you should be able to see the mist of the falls once you reach I-190. Please send me an email if you need to know more.

About travel from chicago to buffalo

travel from chicago to buffalo?
My friend and I wanted to travel from chicago to buffalo in May and return before June 1st. I wanted to know what is the cheapest way to travel. I tried checking flights. The cheapest is Southwest airlines. Is there any flight cheaper than that? Also the amtrak has no rooms available on the day I want to go. Is there any other train that goes?

Megabus (megabus.com) will get you from Chicago to Cleveland fairly cheap (I priced $33.00 one way on May 6). But they do not go through to Buffalo - maybe you can take Greyhound for the final bit. Return travel might even be cheaper - the first tickets they sell on any route are $1.00, but it creeps up from there.
2 :
Amtrak is the only national passenger rail in the US. For airfares, try www.kayak.com -- they have some cheaper flights than Southwest.

Probably driving. You could check Amtrak, too. Or Greyhound.
2 :
I 80 East, when you get to Toledo, merge to I 90 East. "Put that hammer down, and give it hell" Or, hit up Greyhound or Amtrak- but it will take two days.
3 :
Drive. It's only about 7.5 hours and your just stay on I90 the whole the way.

is there any cheaper way than cab to travel from buffalo airport to niagara falls (canada side)? Cab cost $75.
Or another alternative is to take public bus to niagara falls (ny) and then take the cab. Can I take the cab to cross border to the other side?
Niagara Falls - 3 Answers

1 :
Niagara Air Bus - $74 one way or $122 round trip. They travel back and forth over the border several times a day, so there would probably be less hassle than if you took a cab. www.niagaraairbus.com
2 :
you could walk, that would be free.
3 :
If you are travelling by yourself, it is better to take the Niagara Airbus as suggested above. They charge per person. If you are travelling in a group of 2+ people, then take a taxi, that is the cheapest rate you'll find. They charge $75 for the *car*, which would fit up to 4 people plus luggage. Yes, they'll drive you over the border and straight to your hotel, for that flat rate. Have a great trip!

The distance is approximately 282-miles between the cities. At an average speed of 5-miles per hour it will take approximately 56 and one-half hours to complete the non-stop trip. See the links below for additional information. Hope this helps.

Frequent travel from Buffalo, NY to Detroit, MI?
I plan to frequently travel from the two cities and just curious how you would recommend doing it. Plane, Train, Automobile? Via Sarnia? Via Windsor? or Via Cleveland?

Canadian route is almost 100 miles less than going through the states, also it's a safer route in the winter due to the lake effect snow, that I'm sure you're very familiar with.
2 :
If your business takes you into the city, and you have a current passport, Windsor would probably be your best choice. However, the trains don't cross the river. Of course, there's no Customs to mess with going by way of Cleveland, but it will take longer. Then again, if you fly, it'll be considered domestic, and no passport will be necessary.
3 :
As long as you have a passport (or other documentation deemed acceptable), I would suggest crossing the border at Niagara Falls, N.Y. and then getting on the 401 (highway) directly to Windsor and crossing the border there into Detroit. This is your most direct route. Sarnia is way out of the way (adding at least 2 hours to your trip - an extra hour up to Sarnia and another hour after crossing into Port Huron and then on to Detroit) and Cleveland is a roundabout way as well.

How can I travel from Pittsburgh, PA to Buffalo, PA?
My mom won't let me drive, airfare is expensive, Greyhound's schedules aren't that great, and Amtrak doesn't work for me. Is there any other bus company or train company that will get me there?

Bus, Train, Plane, car. It's a nice trip and interesting if you don't mind going through the inductrial part of the State.
2 :
Hitch a ride with a truck driver JUST KIDDING Take the bus.
3 :
Just take the Greyhound bus. Even if the schedules arn't that great, it's always better to go with that, than to pay the airfare...Remember that...
4 :
First I want to say- why won't your mom let you drive? Does she NOT like where your going? If that's the case please listen to your mom- trust me! Anyway perhaps you can talk to your mom and make a day trip out of it- you could have lunch together and go to wherever your going. If not maybe you could carpool with some friends or pay a friend for a ride. Or..take a taxi. (if your old enough). However you go please make sure to stay safe and be careful.
5 :
i used to live in erie. i went to school at UB in buffalo and i've visited pitt a lot. its not a bad drive at all... just over 4 hours from pitt to buffalo. take 79north to erie then head east on 90 to buffalo. incredibly easy and the weather wont be a factor this time of the year. just get the keys from your mom ... the only reason she doesnt want you to drive is because she is afraid something might happen. believe it or not eventually youre going to make road trips and your mom will have to let go. and if it isnt just a typo ... its buffalo NY.

travel time - buffalo airport - american falls, american falls - canadian falls, bus service between 2 falls?
We arrive at buffalo airport and are wanting to travel, by car, from the airport to the canadian falls. we want to know how long this journey will take? we will then go froma merican falls to canadian falls, also by car/wallk whatever will take less time. how long will it take to get over ther bridge to the canadian side? thanka

2nd Question answered first: it is simpler and best (and quicker through customs and immigration) to walk across the bridge between the falls. With normal traffic and border crossing delay, expect about an hour or a bit more from the Buffalo airport to Niagara Falls, Ontario.
2 :
I find it easier to drive over, because you will need the car to travel a ways up the road on the other side of the Canadian Falls to get really close and for the activities available there. Unless there is a backup at the bridge, it just takes a few minutes to cross. You will want to spend most of your time on the Canadain side. Some things there, like Maid Of The Mist have a cost, but others are free or very little. Drive over, you will be glad you did. Really want to go right up to the side of the Horseshoe Falls. You can rent a car at the Buffalo airport, then the drive is a bit iver an hour. I found Hertz there to have best price and they have GPS equipment to get you were you want to go.
3 :
Assuming you are American, cross at the Peace Bridge in Buffalo, a short drive from the airport, and take the Niagara Parkway to the Falls. It is a scenic drive direct to the Falls, and shorter than the highway. You can view the American Falls from the Canadian sdie better than U.S. side, and most Falls attractions on Canadian side as well. Crossing back to US can be done at Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, and return to airport is all highway from there (Toll Road). Bring photo ID or Passport, makes crossing either way easier, and avoid Duty Free, a few hours is not enough time to avoid duties and taxes and this may tie you up at the border. Crossings on weekends or holidays can take from 15 minutes to as much as 2 hours, both bridges post approximate delays on remote signs before the bridges, but if one is busy, both will be. Make sure if renting you specify you will be travelling to Canada (they will ask). You can make the total trip in a matter of hours if rushed, but longer if you want to stop and smell the roses.

Taking a train or bus.
3 :
If you want to bring your dog with you, then the only way is to drive. You can't take the train or the bus. Amtrak doesn't allow animals on its trains (unless it's a seeing-eye dog), and neither does Greyhound allow animals on their buses. The drive will take you around 7 hours.
4 :
take the $79 dollar JetBlue flight, it's 45 minutes to JFK. I do it about 6 times a year to see family in Erie,PA and fly into Buffalo. I know you do not want to fly but unless you want to drive thats your only option.

by car? about 10 hours The person below me didn't calculate the factor ov running into traffic and stopping. You really can't do that trip without stopping for a few minutes. (Bathroom Breaks and/or perhaps getting something to eat)
2 :
from Buffalo,NY to NYC travel time 6:37 mins distance 411 miles source yahoo maps
3 :
By plane about 55 minutes. By Bus about 9:30 hours By car about 8 Hours
4 :
yup did it once myself .. about 10 hours ..
5 :
7 Hrs 45 Mins on AMTRAK
6 :
count on about 8 hours depending on well everything goes(traffic, stops, etc)--done it many times...FYI--jetblue has cheap tix from buffalo to nyc--about $75 each way if you buy in advance--it ends up being cheaper than gas/tolls/parking and is a 50 minute flight as opposed to 8 hour drive/traffic jam
7 :
Just under 1 hour
8 :
About 7 hours...ish. Depending on what time of day. The fastest I've ever made it was just under 6 hours and that was in the middle of the night...longest was almost 9 hours...I came in during rush hour and had traffic all the way from pa jersey line to home.
